The project involves carrying out research work on the design of frequency converters and linear drive control algorithms in order to create an efficient and cost-effective system for powering very long linear motor sections for magnetic vehicles. The solution being developed in this project is based on five main aspects:
- Synchronization of converters between sections to maintain thrust constancy
- Development of master control of sectional converters, which is responsible for controlling the operation of the propulsion system in the context of the global motion control system
- Development of converter set controllers adapted for operation in a multi-section configuration
- Development of infrastructure (hardware and software) for communication between individual converter sets and between converter sets and the master controller
- Development of the design and software of sectional switches
