Cargo MagRail Booster, a part of the MagRail product portfolio, is the world’s first retrofit solution for existing rail cars that uses an electromagnetic propulsion with a linear motor and allows each wagon to move independently without a locomotive.

Technology ready for commercialization

The solution

Cargo MagRail Booster retrofits existing wagons with linear motor technology, turning them into fully autonomous, self-propelled units. They can run on conventional tracks – individually or in full trainsets – and connect or disconnect automatically.

State-of-play

MagRail Booster is in commercilisation:

Stepwise approach

MagRail Booster is applicable to any railway network. Due to regulation & approvals we start in non-public sidings, like ports, logistic and industrial zones. At a later stage then also in the open network
