The record number of 300 start-ups from several continents participated in the Start-up Challenge competition. The authors of the 18 most interesting startups presented themselves in the Scale-up Alley - dedicated to the business visionaries of the Katowice Spodek space. From among them, the jury distinguished six most interesting startups in Poland. Their founders presented their ideas to the auditorium of the European Economic Congress, the largest business event in Central Europe.

The laureates were honored on May 14, 2019, during the gala crowning the first day of European Start-up Days. The accompanying event for the European Economic Congress in Katowice has been connecting young and mature businesses for four years.

Hyper Poland won in the TRADITION & MODERNITY category (traditional industry, energy, telecommunications, transport, construction). The jury was convinced by the innovative use of hyperloop technology, assuming gradual implementation on the existing railway network and a thoroughly planned research process. The advanced process of obtaining patent protection was also appreciated.

The co-host of the European Start-up Days is the City of Katowice.
